*Grumble*

A note to my new primary care physician:

First, thanks a bunch for the MMR and tetanus shots.  Like my other arm wasn’t already torn up from giving eighteen thousand vials of blood this morning for the clinical study’s exit blood work.  Sheesh.

Second, I didn’t say that I needed a referral to an RE because I was starting fertility treatments, I said that I was hoping to continue with them.  So yes, I am on prenatals.  And yes, I know that stress can hinder conception efforts.

And for the love of god YES, I know that I am thin.  I have gained 20 pounds in the past six months!  Is that not enough??

Oy.  Apparently not.

Thank you also for recommending yoga and healthy oils.  Already on top of it.

And finally, thanks for saying that if I do exactly what you recommended, I shouldn’t even need the referral to the RE.

I sincerely hope that you’re right, but I’ll go ahead and take that referral just in case… kaythanks.

*sigh*

    Seriously!?

I think I’d be finding a new PCP.

Hope you were able to get that referral and that you get some answers (real answers) that get you your BFP!

Ugh! I hate it when they cookie cut their advice for you. After I hadn’t ovulated for 18 months and was BEGGING for a referral to an RE my doctor had a lot of useful suggestions like more sex…. Really? I looked at him in disbelief and explained to him that I could have sex till the cows come home but no eggo no preggo – I mean really! His next line of attack was that stressing about not ovulating was causing me not to ovulate and that when women work it can all be a bit too much for their widdle bwains

      Oos posted too early

Needless to say I found a new GP, who actually listens to me and am sooo much happier!

See how you go but there are lots of doctors out there so don’t be afraid to shop around.

      Good luck 🙂

Oh my goodness, how did you not totally flip on them? I’ve gotten really mouthy with my medical professionals the last 2 years.

Holy smokes, that doc needs to sit in a room with a few of us IF gals. He’d get an earful for sure!

She wants me to take a tablespoon of grapeseed oil every day, along with increasing my intake of olive oil, nuts and fatty fish like salmon and tuna.

I tried to tell her that I’ve tried pretty much every diet out there, but she was too interested in the sound of her own voice.

    Urgh. Stoopid people are stoopid.
I love it when I get showered with mindless non-specific advice.
Oh, I should stop being sad? Thank you! You have miraculously fixed everything!

Ugh…Dr.’s can be so annoying. I understand they have advanced degrees, but give us a modicum of credit for it being OUR body and life that we’ve experienced. Sorry it was frustrating, but glad you got your referral.

Totally with you on being annoyed with the medical profession. I had a conversation with a nurse at my RE’s office yesterday where she told me blatant lies about LH surges and made me feel like a total idiot. I miss the days when I was younger and my doctor knew my whole family and knew each one of us by name. We pay them all of this money to “make us better” when half the time we get better info from Google or our friends. :o)
