Off and Running…

April 5th, 2012.  CD10.

Well, I completed this cycle’s first post-meds ultrasound and blood draw this morning, and things are looking good so far.  It’s cycle day 10 today, but I have two decent-sized follicles.

They asked me to come back on Saturday for another look, and I expect that if they make progress like expected, I should be able to trigger by Sunday, and have an IUI Monday or Tuesday.

I am really feeling this cycle.  Not in the way that I was last cycle, what with all the signs and omens and nonsense, but in a more relaxed approach.  I feel like things are calmer in my life right now (can that be possible??), and I’m feeling really contented with myself.

I hope that sense of well-being translates into some increased baby juju!

Here are the reasons why my life is awesome right now:

  • The darling husband is amazing.  He is, as always, super supportive, and I just feel extra-close to him right now.
  • My social life is full.  Between seeing my West Michigan girls last weekend, and spending time with work-friends, I feel like less of a hermit!
  • Work is going well.  I am staying incredibly busy, and that feels great.  I’m also going to be able to travel a bit for a change; I’ll be rocking out a three-day job fair in balmy Indianapolis at the end of this month!  Woo!
  • My weight has increased and maintained for once!  I’m a healthy 18 pounds up from where I started over the summer, and I’m actually contemplating joining a gym to keep it toned and under control.
  • I’m reading.  A LOT.  As I mentioned previously, I got a Kindle Fire recently and have been a reading machine.  I’ve polished off about 10 books so far, and some of them weren’t even fluff!  (Okay, but some of them were.  And some of them were ladyporn.)
  • Robotsex is a thing of the past, thanks in part to the aforementioned more relaxed lifestyle and the ladyporn.  This was one thing I promised myself I would remedy this year, but didn’t want to officially chalk it up to a New Year’s Resolution for fear of my short attention span forgetting that I had resolved to do anything.
  • With the husband’s new job came new health insurance coverage.  The binder arrived yesterday, and I was amazed to find out that insurance will cover one complete IUI cycle!  I mean, it’s only one, but it’s better than nothing.  I asked about prescription coverage for that too, and it sounds like most meds will be covered completely or at least discounted greatly.
  • Oh, and last but not least:  I GOT A NEW CAR!!!  I’m not talking about another hand-me-down beater.  No.  I’m talking a brand spanking new, pretty,  shiny, delicious-smelling, sparkly thing that is all mine to love and drive and polish and wash in the driveway in my bikini.
    • My old car had been falling apart for quite some time, and with the husband’s new Ford benefits, it was only natural that we dip into the employee pricing pool for our next vehicle purchase.  I’m stoked.  I mean, this baby freakin’ talks to me.  And the cupholders light up.  Andyou can change the color of said lights to whatever color you want.  Mine are purple right now.  Be jealous.

I know this isn't a great picture, but let me assure you of the awesomeness of this car.

That’s all I have for now, but I will update more over the weekend when I find out how advanced my lovely little follies have become.

Happy Thursday, my friends!

Yay for a new car! It sounds fabulous. It is the Taurus or the Fusion? I can’t tell from the picture and I’m not as “into” cars as I my husband would like. Either way, congrats! And yay for an IUI early next week! That’s fabulous news, too. Best of luck to you! I think I’m going to have to give this ladyporn you speak of a try. Things could always be better in the bedroom. 🙂

Oooooh man, Teej. Try Fifty Shades of Grey. And promise not to judge me, LOL.

And I ended up with the Fusion! I love it. The Taurus was nice too, but almost too big for what I need. And I’m not “into” cars either. Hence my excitement for color-changing cupholders. 😉
