Month: March 2012

And I’m Back in the Game!!

March 29th, 2012.  CD3.

10 Things I Hate About You...? Anyone??

Well, I have some updates, as you probably have surmised by now.  Aunt Flo showed her ugly face incredibly early during this “benched” cycle, and although I was caught off guard by an 18 day cycle, I was pretty happy!

I had blood work and an ultrasound yesterday with the clinic docs for the study, and everything looked great.  They said it looked like I did have a cyst, but it had receded, thankfully.

I started Clomid the mystery meds this morning, so here we go again!  🙂

Many other crazy things are also going on right now in my life, and I’m trying to keep up with them all.  Work is unbelievably busy, but I love it.  I will be traveling to a job fair at the end of the month, and I’m definitely looking forward to that!  Just too bad I can’t bring the husband along…

I’ve also been reading a TON since I bought myself a Kindle Fire a couple of weeks ago.  I’ve breezed through The Hunger Games trilogy, the ladyporn Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, and am now on to Game of Thrones, which I assume will keep me busy for quite some time.  I love to read, and I find that it helps me relax and take my mind off of my everyday anxieties.

I also find that ladyporn has a beneficial effect on what used to be robotsex.  Highly recommend.  😉

Have a Smutty Day, folks!  😀

March 12th, 2012.  CD4.

So I had my cycle day 3 blood work and ultrasound this morning (a day late, I know), and the news is not great.

I have a few leftover follicles from last cycle hanging out that never resolved, and they seem to be causing elevated Estradiol (E2) levels.  The study guidelines won’t allow a participant to move forward if their level is above the mid-90s, and I am at 128.

This means that I cannot have a medicated cycle or IUI this month, and that I can basically sit on my hands until Aunt Flo shows her ugly face again.

The only good thing about this is that I think this is the nail in the Clomid coffin.  I never had these types of reactions to meds when I was taking Femara, and thus I assume my mystery meds are the evil Clomid.

Boo… you whore.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Period

Having your period is just like a Dementor attack:

It sucks the life out of you, leaves you a trembling shell of a person curled in the fetal position, and chocolate is the only thing that makes you feel human again.

Expecto PatronuMIDOL!!!

The end.

Oh hey look, I'm not the only one who thinks so!

Officially Out: The Tale of the Thirstiest Thursday

March 8th, 2012.  CD29, 15DPIUI.

Well, as expected, the beta results came back negative.  Not like that was a shock… My temps took a dump this morning, alerting me to what I already suspected.

Well played, uterus.  Well played…

Oh well… What’s one more month in the grand scheme of things?

Today will be filled with lots of working, followed by an evening spent drinking a bottle of wine that’s been chilled in preparation for this very event.  Hopefully laying off the Prometrium will coax Aunt Flo out of hiding and we can jump start this next cycle.

Time to work on my Apocalypse Baby!!  Yeehaw!

Hurry Up and Wait Some More

Well, I just found out that since I went to an outside lab for my beta today instead of driving the hour and a half to the clinic, my results won’t be available to me until tomorrow.

I already know what they’re going to say.  “I’m sorry, hun… It’s a no this time.”

The worst part is that I am still taking the Prometrium, holding onto that tenuous shred of hope that 13 home pregnancy tests might be wrong.  By doing so, I am delaying the start of my next cycle – which I am already eager to get started – as I’m 99.9% sure this one is a bust.

Ugh.  No Wine Wednesday for me…

Bring on Thirsty Thursday!!

Beta Blues

Wednesday, March 7th, 2012.  CD28, 14DPIUI.

This is the result of the home pregnancy stick I peed on this morning:

I mean, at least now I won’t be as crushed when I get the results of my beta back later today…

Le sigh.  Maybe next month…
